How high school teams are built

Girls and boys train and compete as separate teams, each with their own coaches. Age grades combine into shared sides by numbers and skill. Players may be approved to play up or down for the right fit, safety first. Practices Tuesday and Thursday, 1.5 hours.

    Age eligibility (USA Rugby)

Players must be 14 on or before September 1 to play or train with high school rugby. Middle schoolers are not permitted regardless of age. A 14-year-old in 9th grade needs the USA Rugby youth eligibility waiver.

    A note on coed

Everyone registers coed. Here is how it works on the field.

The City of Roswell lists every program as coed, and that is accurate for registration. On the field, U8 to U12 play coed. U14 is often true coed, girls and boys on the same side, with placement by coaches based on skill, experience, and size, safety first.

U16 and U19 register under one coed listing but train and compete as separate girls and boys teams, each with their own coaching staff. New to rugby or not sure where your player fits? Email us and we will find the right spot.
